Planet Fitness Grand Opening Will Be Open 'House'

The grand opening of the area’s newest Planet Fitness will be an open House.

Patrick House, who won season 10 of NBC’s  “The Biggest Loser,” will speak during the new Shrewsbury health club’s festivities, at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, says Jonathan Epstein, one of the owners.

Planet Fitness opened Dec. 1 in White City Plaza, next to iParty, at 100 Boston Turnpike.

Planet Fitness sponsors “The Biggest Loser,” Epstein says. House is visiting Planet Fitness clubs nationwide, he said.

“This is the biggest time of the year – December, January, February – when people are working off their holiday celebrations,” Epstein said.

The Shrewsbury health club is a state-of-the-art 21,000-square-foot facility, he said.

Shrewsbury was “one of the towns that we’d been looking in” for new health clubs, he said.

“The community has embraced us,” Epstein said.

“We’ve been extremely busy.”
