1 Dead Following Route 20 Crash In Shrewsbury
Police have not yet released the victim's identity, as the investigation is ongoing.
SHREWSBURY, MA — One person has died as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Route 20 on Thursday.
Shrewsbury police responded to an accident in the area of 727 Hartford Turnpike shortly before 2 p.m. The crash involved a Hyundai Elantra and a Mercedes SUV.
The driver of the Hyundai was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased, and the driver of the Mercedes was also taken to the hospital, with minor injuries.

Hartford Turnpike was closed for several hours between South Street and Centench Boulevard, and traffic was diverted, police said. Officer Charland and several other members from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction team responded to the scene, and are investigating the crash.
Multiple Shrewsbury officers also responded, along with Shrewsbury Fire and Worcester EMS personnel

Police have not yet released the victim's identity or any further details, as the investigation is ongoing. The Shrewsbury Police Department said it "extends its condolences to the victim and their family after this tragic incident."
