Shrewsbury Board, Committee Seats Opening This Spring
Town officials are encouraging residents to get involved in local government, with several upcoming vacancies on boards and committees.
SHREWSBURY, MA — Town officials are encouraging residents to get involved in local government, with several upcoming vacancies on boards and committees.
The Select Board announced openings in multiple groups and is inviting interested community members to apply.
Among the vacancies is one seat on the town’s 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee, which is helping plan events tied to Shrewsbury’s upcoming tricentennial.

There is also one opening on the Affordable Housing Trust, with a term that expires on June 30, 2027. The trust plays a key role in supporting housing initiatives and affordability efforts in town.
The Commission on Disabilities currently has two vacancies, both with terms expiring June 30, 2027. The commission advocates for accessibility and inclusion for residents with disabilities.

Separately, the town manager is seeking applicants for additional positions, including one opening on the Council on Aging Board and two seats on the Historical Commission. All three positions carry terms expiring June 30, 2027.
Officials said residents interested in serving are encouraged to apply through the town, with appointments offering an opportunity to participate directly in shaping local programs, policies and community initiatives.
