Shrewsbury Coronavirus: 59 Positive Cases

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury reported 59 positive cases of the new coronavirus in town. The news comes after CVS announced the closure of it's pilot drive-thru testing site in Shrewsbury. The site is closing so that a new rapid testing site can open in Lowell.

Positive cases in Shrewsbury are being monitored, quarantined or isolated as each case dictates, according to the board of health. Anyone who has had close contact with an infected person will be contacted by the board of health.

Shrewsbury is part of the coalition of the seven municipalities in the Central Massachusetts Regional Public Health Alliance.

A COVID-19 information line has been established for Shrewsbury Residents to use at 508-799- 1019. The line provides facts and information about COVID-19, how to stop the spread, what to do if someone is experiencing symptoms and quarantine information. The line will be available in multiple languages.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health on Tuesday announced 96 more deaths from the new coronavirus, bringing the state's death toll to 356. Th total number of cases in Massachusetts, as of Tuesday, is 15,202.
