Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A Shrewsbury woman was injured in a daytime home invasion on Wednesday, leaving her injured after two women attacked her armed with knives, police said. The incident happened just after noon along Julio Drive. The two women — a 19-year-old from Worcester and a 31-year-old from Southbridge — broke into the home and assaulted the woman inside, police said. The victim was taken to UMass Memorial in Worcester for treatment of non-life threatening injures. Police said the three women knew each other. Not long after, Shrewsbury police saw a car associated with the home invasion along Route 9 near Lake Quinsigamond. The two women inside were arrested in charges of armed home invasion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery to collect a loan, three counts of assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and conspiracy.
