Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Local firefighters likely saved a home Tuesday night after a fire broke out in an attached garage. According to the Shrewsbury Fire Department, the blaze broke out just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home along Myriah Road, and firefighters arrived to find a "heavy rolling fire." Firefighters stopped the flames before they spread to the structure, and then removed the burned vehicle to prevent flare-ups. "Fire damage to the home was minor, not affecting the structural integrity. One vehicle was a total loss, and the other car in the garage was removed and suffered no damage," the department said. Firefighters from Northborough and Westborough also responded to the fire to help and provide coverage to other parts of the town.
