SHREWSBURY, MA — Local firefighters likely saved a home Tuesday night after a fire broke out in an attached garage.
According to the Shrewsbury Fire Department, the blaze broke out just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home along Myriah Road, and firefighters arrived to find a "heavy rolling fire."
Firefighters stopped the flames before they spread to the structure, and then removed the burned vehicle to prevent flare-ups.

"Fire damage to the home was minor, not affecting the structural integrity. One vehicle was a total loss, and the other car in the garage was removed and suffered no damage," the department said.
Firefighters from Northborough and Westborough also responded to the fire to help and provide coverage to other parts of the town.
