SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury is looking for two residents to help guide future development and land use decisions in town.

The Town of Shrewsbury is seeking applicants for two Planning Board openings: one regular member seat with a five-year term expiring June 30, 2031, and one alternate member seat with a one-year term expiring June 30, 2027. Applications will be accepted through June 22, according to the town’s Board and Committee Vacancies page.

Planning Board members review commercial and residential development proposals, work with residents and prospective developers, review projects under construction and make recommendations on zoning amendments. The board also has authority to initiate zoning changes and is responsible for guiding land development and growth in Shrewsbury, according to the town.

The town said members will also assist with Shrewsbury’s master plan update, which will help shape the town’s land use vision for the next 10 to 20 years.

The Planning Board has five members appointed by the town manager and generally meets on the first Thursday of each month, with additional meetings scheduled as needed.
