Shrewsbury Police: Framingham Man Had Hundreds Of Ammunition Rounds

Shrewsbury police arrested the 47-year-old after a traffic stop along Route 20 over the weekend.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A weekend traffic stop in Shrewsbury led to the discovery of hundreds of rounds of ammunition in a local man's car, according to police.

Shrewsbury police pulled over a 47-year-old Framingham driver around 7:30 p.m. along Route 20. Police pulled the driver over after an officer discovered the car was unregistered.

As police were searching the car before having it towed, they found shopping bags in the trunk filled with ammunition. A final tally counted over 200 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, police said.

The driver did not have a license to possess the ammunition, and was arrested on charges including possession of ammunition without a license, and possession of ammunition with a previous serious criminal charge.
