Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury police this week will begin a new caffeinated community service. The department will host its first "coffee with a cop" event at the senior center on Friday, giving residents the chance to meet and greet police over coffee. "Come and join us for our first "Coffee with a Cop" event! This is a great opportunity for officers and our residents to connect on a personal level in a relaxed environment. All are welcome to come grab a coffee and chat, we hope to see you there!" the department said in a Facebook announcement.Many local police departments hold regular coffee-with-a-cop events. State police also hold similar events around the state. Shrewsbury's coffee chat will run from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the senior center, 98 Maple Ave.
