Shrewsbury Police: Man Arrested for OUI; Rabid Fox, Smashed Mailboxes on Lamplighter; Fight in the Road

The following are excerpts from the Shrewsbury police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, April 26

  • At 9:03 a.m., police responded to vandalism of a mailbox at 56 Lamplighter Drive
  • At 10:34 a.m., police responded to a call about a potentially rabid fox at 25 Lamplighter Drive. The fox was euthanized
  • At 12:08 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment at 6 Higgins St. The person said that a neighbor was harassing him.
  • At 3:42 p.m., police responded to Mercury Drive/Neptune Drive for a disturbance. The caller said a woman wearing turquoise pants and a white shirt just assaulted another female in the road. Peace was restored.
  • At 6:47 p.m., police responded to a residence on Yorkshire Terrace for a report of a disturbance. The person, it turns out, was arguing on a cell phone with family overseas

Monday, April 27

  • At 1:55 p.m., police responded to a report of vandalism on Lamplighter Drive, where a mail carrier reported that multiple mailboxes had been destroyed over the last few days
  • At 2:42 p.m., police responded to 7 Trowbridge Lane for a report of an assault. This 911 call was for an assault between two men. A no trespassing was issued by the homeowner on the suspect involved
  • At 7:05 p.m., police responded to 34 Yorkshire Terrace, Apt. 5, where a woman reported that her daughter was missing, and now reported that she was located
  • At 8:59 p.m., police pulled a car over on Hartford Turnpike. Edward Johnson, 33, 151 Hartford Turnpike, Apt. 39, Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with OUI, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, alcohol from an open container in a vehicle, marked lanes violation, speeding
  • At 9:07 p.m., police responded to 197 Boston Turnpike, where pharmacists reported that a “female with red hair” was attempting to get prescriptions using other names
