Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury will take part in National Night Out 2022, a nationwide event aimed at improving community relations with police. Shrewsbury's event will take place at the town common in August. The event will allow resdients to meet and talk to local police, plus representatives from other town departments. There will also be food trucks available. National Night Out events typically happen on the first Tuesday in August each summer. The event dates to the mid 1980s, when neighborhood watch members would sit outside with their porch lights on. About 16,000 communities across the U.S. participate in the annual event, according to the National Night Out organization.<a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/1786820011664143/?ref=newsfeed" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Shrewsbury's National Night Out</a> event starts at 5 p.m. on Aug. 4.
