Shrewsbury Pride 5K Returns To Raise Funds For LGBTQ+ Youth, Families

SHREWSBURY, MA —The Shrewsbury Pride 5K is set to return next month for a morning of inclusivity, activity and support for local LGBTQIA+ initiatives.

The race, co-hosted by the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury and Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, will take place on June 6. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to run or walk in celebration of Pride and community connection, organizers said.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. at Oak Middle School, with day-of registration available until 8:45 a.m.

Registration costs $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the event. Participants who register early, by May 17 or among the first 400 registrants, will receive a free event T-shirt.

The event is presented by State Representative Hannah Kane, with professional timing services provided by Presidential Timing.

Proceeds from the Shrewsbury Pride 5K will benefit both co-host organizations. Funds raised will support SYFS programs that directly serve LGBTQ+ youth and families, as well as FCCS outreach efforts to support marginalized communities locally and beyond.

Organizers say the event is about more than just a race, it’s an opportunity to come together, celebrate diversity, and make a meaningful impact.
