Shrewsbury Rep. Calls For Increased Social Security Benefits
Hannah Kane, Republican state representative from Shrewsbury, called on Congress to shore up social security benefits.

SHREWSBURY, MA - State Representative Hannah Kane (R-Shrewsbury) called Congress’ passage of the Social Security Fairness Act a “major victory for Massachusetts retirees.”
The bill, now in the hands of President Joe Biden, is aimed to help improve social security retirement benefits for police, firefighters and teachers, as it’s expected to kick start the repeal of the federal Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset.
Those two programs have significantly reduced social security benefits, and Rep. Kane believes repealing them will provide significant aid for Massachusetts' nearly 3 million retirees.
