Shrewsbury’s Chili’s Closes
No reason given for closure; restaurant received mixed reviews online.
A local eatery has shuttered its doors.
The Chili’s on Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury closed on May 7, with no more notice than an alert to subscribers on its email subscription list. The notice stated, “Thanks for your patronage!,” and advised customers visit another Chili's location in Auburn, about 11 miles away.
According to Google reviews online, the eatery received some positive reviews. But during the last year, at least two bad reviews were posted complaining about “slow, burnt food … an embarrassment to the brand.” Another reviewer stated that they had to wait for nearly an hour to be seated even though the restaurant appeared to be half empty.
