Long Running Shrewsbury Festival Will Return In The Fall
The two-day September festival will be back for the second time since a pandemic cancelation in 2020.
SHREWSBURY, MA — A longtime Shrewsbury fall festival will be back in 2022.
The Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen on June 14 approved food licenses for the 2022 Spirit of Shrewsbury festival. The event will take place on Sept. 24 and 25 this year.
The event came back in September 2021 after a cancelation in 2020 due to the pandemic. The festival featured the Miss Shrewsbury Pageant, a weeklong display of scarecrows on the town common and the main event featuring food trucks, the town expo, craft fair and more.

Organizers are still putting together the lineup of events and attractions for the 2022 festival. The organizers are accepting applications for sponsors, parade participants and grand marshal nominees now.
The Spirit of Shrewsbury festival got its start in 1996 as a homecoming weekend for Shrewsbury High School alumni.
