The Yard

One important aspect of selling a home is making the yard presentable.

Show me a home with a nice clean yard, and I'll show you a home that's likely to get a higher sale price. 

If your home looks like a foreclosure, it's time to get working.  Fortunately, there are a few inexpensive things that can be done that can make a world of difference when it comes to attracting buyers. 

General clean-up.  Walk the property and remove all debris.  No car batteries allowed.

Pets.  Make sure that there are no minefields. 

Shrubs/bushes.  Trim them, and make the place look liveable. 

Insects.  Hornet nests tend to scare people away. nspect the property for insects, cobwebs, etc.  Then remove the unwanted critters.  

Flower beds.  Make sure they are free of weeds.  Marigolds or perennials make a nice touch.

Fertilize, Reseed, and Mow the Lawn.  Fertilizing prevents those unattractive dendelions/weeds from reappearing.  Nicely trimmed lawns make for attractive places to live. 

Conversely, overgrown lawns filled with weeds, makes properties look like they're neglected and unwanted. 

Driveway/walkways.  Repair the cracks.
