Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

May brought about another Troop 4 scout, Eric Nerkowski, making the ascension to eagle. The troop went on a trip to see the Mystic Seaport Museum in Connecticut and another to hike in Franconia Notch State Park up in New Hampshire. The Mystic Seaport Museum is the largest maritime museum in the world. The museum consists of an entire recreated 19-century fishing village including many historic boats and over 60 actually historic buildings. Troop 4 also participated in Shrewsbury's Memorial Day parade by donating food for the veterans to eat after the parade, marching in the parade, and doing the color guard of the US flag and the 3 flags for the VFWs and American Legion posts.
