The Venture Forum to hold November Program on Robotics

Worcester nonprofit to hold program on robotics.

The Venture Forum, a Worcester organization dedicated to launching and growing successful tech businesses, will hold its November program on Tuesday, November 10th from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Rubin Campus Center, Odeum (3rd floor) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

November’s program is titled “Robotics: What’s Next?” The program will explore the future of robotics, including robots designed specifically for consumer use and manufacturing and distribution.

At the start of the meeting WPI will present the Kalenian award. Paul Kalenian will present an 18-month grant for $20,000 in the name of his father, a WPI grad.

The program will feature robotics experts Nick Pappas, vice president of MassVentures, John Kawola, CEO of Harvest Automation, Dr. Holly Yanco, Director of NERVE Center at Umass Lowell, and Kevin Harrington, co-founder of Neuron Robotics Cooperative and Technocopia. Program attendees, who can range from entrepreneurs, investors, and manufacturers, to programmers and inventors, should leave feeling confident in their knowledge of where the robotics industry is going and why. The program will feature a hands-on demonstration where attendees can touch and see robots in action.

For non-members of The Venture Forum, the event will be priced at $15. For The Venture Forum Members and students, the event is free. Students are required to register in advance, and College/University ID will be requested at check-in. There will be a $5 registration fee for student walk-ins.
