Weapons Stolen From Army Reserve Base

Automatic rifles and pistols have gone missing after a break-in at a military facility in nearby Worcester over the weekend, officials announced.
The FBI is investigating the break-in at the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center in Worcester. Officials confirmed that the weapons are missing after the overnight break-in Saturday, WHDH, 7 News reported.
The weapons were reportedly stolen from a gun locker, but there is no indication that the theft is tied to terrorism or any specific threat, according to Hank Shaw, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston division.

While there is no immediate threat, Gov. Charlie Baker used the incident to remind residents to be vigilant of any suspicious activity in the wake of the Paris attacks.
“The more opportunity people have to rely on citizenry to serve as the eyes and ears, the more it makes a difference,” Baker said at a press conference.
The missing weapons were entered into a national database, and federal, state, and local law enforcement have been alerted. The investigation continues.
