SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury will mark Veterans Day on Friday with a series of events and activities featuring local veterans and more.

The town's event will be held at the World War I Memorial, 1 Maple Ave. Here's the full lineup:

10:45 a.m., formation

  • Veterans meet in front of (Former) Beal School and march to front of monument together.
  • Boy Scout Troop 4 will carry the US, American Legion and VFW flags.
  • Veterans and Local & State Officials will form directly in front of the Monument.

11:00 a.m., Veterans Day Ceremony

  • Master of Ceremonies John Travers, Adjunct Ray Stone Post and Scout Leader of BSA Troop 4
  • Welcome by Fred Russell, Chairman of the Shrewsbury Veterans Council
  • Welcome by Select Board Member, Maurice DePalo, Chair
  • Pledge of Allegiance by Shruti Sivashankar and Preethi Sivashankar, Shrewsbury Girl Scouts
  • Musical selections by Paton School, Grade 3 Chorus
  • Wreath laying at the monument by Victor Quaranta American Legion Post # 397
  • Prayer by Bill Davis
  • Ringing the bell and reading of names of recently deceased veterans by Fred Russell
  • Taps by Chase Orciuch and Kieren Ghidella, SHS Seniors.
  • Closing remarks, John Travers
