SHREWSBURY, MA — A traffic stop in Shrewsbury this week ended in the arrest of two Worcester residents on drug trafficking charges, the department reported.

A Shrewsbury officer stopped a driver just before 1 a.m. Tuesday after noticing a faulty inspection sticker. The 30-year-old Worcester driver told the officer he didn't have a license, and police discovered the car belonged to a 38-year-old Worcester woman who was asleep in the back seat.

Police reported seeing drug paraphernalia inside the car, and decided to do a search. The officers found suspected cocaine — in both crystal and powder form — and about 81 grams of heroin, police said.
