SOMERVILLE, MA — A Somerville pizza chef has been recognized as one of the best in the world at his craft, according to a report from Boston.com.
Juan Gabriel Perez was ranked the 54th best pizza chef in the world in a top 100 ranking in the third annual Best Pizza Awards. The voters are composed of food journalists, gastronomy experts, restaurant industry professionals, and pizza chefs.
Perez is the executive chef for Posto, an Italian restaurant located at Assembly Row.
Perez is not only the sole New England-based chef to make the list, but his ranking for this year marks his highest of any.
