SOMERVILLE, MA — A Quincy-based trust hit the proverbial jackpot after purchasing a winning ticket for a Massachusetts State Lottery game worth seven figures.
David Spillane of the Summers Cumming Trust is the recipient of a $1 million prize as part of the $2,000,000 50X Cashword instant ticket game. Spillane, on behalf of the trust, elected to receive a one-time payment worth $650,000. The actual winner plans on using the money to purchase a summer home, according to Summers Cumming Trust.
The winning ticket was purchased on Thursday, May 21 at Holland Convenience on 99 Holland St. Holland Convenience will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the ticket.
The most recent edition of the $2,000,000 50X Cashword game first launched last October, with tickets going on sale for $10. Players can win up to $2 million.
