Million Dollar-winning Lottery Ticket Purchased In Somerville

SOMERVILLE, MA — A man is planning a new purchase while also thinking about the future after a big State Lottery win.

Medford resident Nadal Blanc won a $1 million prize playing the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$1,000,000 Go For The Green" $5 scratch ticket game. According to the MSL, Blanc chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. He plans to use his winnings to purchase a car and invest.

The winning ticket was purchased at 350 Food Mart on 350 Broadway in Somerville. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

"$1,000,000 Go For The Green" is a $5 scratch ticket that launched in January with five $1 million top prizes. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 4.14, while the odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1 in 3,024,000.

Players can win by matching their numbers to the winning numbers or by revealing one of several symbols. A coin symbol automatically wins the prize shown, while 2X, 5X, 10X, and 20X symbols multiply the prize shown. A star symbol wins all 12 prizes on the ticket.
