Crews had to evacuate and fight the fire from outside using multiple hose lines and aerial ladders, with mutual aid from nearby cities. The cause remains under investigation.
2. Yafa Bakery & Café to Open Second Somerville Location in Davis Square (whatnow.com) — Somerville food lovers can look forward to Yafa Bakery & Café opening a second location in Davis Square, taking over the former Posto space at 187 Elm Street. The Palestinian-inspired bakery will keep its original Somerville Avenue café while expanding its popular pastries, sandwiches, and drinks to the new spot, though an exact opening date hasn't been announced yet.
