📰 News we're reading

• Greystar Secures 100K SF Tenant At Somerville Lab Building (bisnow.com) — Somerville's Assembly Row just landed a major boost as Mass General Brigham signed a 105,000-square-foot lease at Greystar's new 74M lab building, its first tenant. The deal consolidates MGB's pathology operations in the city and signals renewed confidence in Somerville's life sciences market, where several large lab projects and approvals are reshaping the Assembly Square innovation hub.

• Yaker Blocks Field Goal Attempt To Seal Thrilling 22-21 Win Over Bates (gotuftsjumbos.com) — Tufts football will be back in action in Somerville next Saturday, October 10, hosting Bowdoin College at Ellis Oval after a dramatic 22-21 comeback win at Bates sealed by a last-second blocked field goal. The Jumbos, now 2-1, leaned on late-game heroics from their quarterback, receivers, and a standout defensive play to stay strong in NESCAC competition.

• Ready or not, The Platform is bringing more nightlife to Kendall Square - Cambridge (csindie.com) — Global Arts Live is opening The Platform, a new performance venue in Kendall Square, which could shift more concerts away from Somerville to Cambridge starting in November. After hosting John Scofield's "Electrospective" on Nov. 19, Somerville Theatre and the Crystal Ballroom are expected to lose much of Global Arts Live's calendar, potentially changing where local audiences go for international music and dance.
