2 Found Dead, 1 Man Injured in Police Shootout

Police found two dead in a South Boston penthouse after engaging in a short firefight with a man Friday night.

Police responded to 141 Dorchester Ave. around 8:38 p.m. for reports of a person with a gun. The man started to immediately shoot at officers when he saw them, police said. He was placed into custody following being shot and a violent struggled.

The man, Bampumim Teixeira, 30, of Chelsea, was transported to the hospital. No officers were shot, but several went to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A subsequent protective sweep of the location by members of the BPD SWAT Team led to the discovery of two adult victims, a male and a female believed to be in their 40’s or 50's. They appeared to have suffered from traumatic injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene.

Multiple charges will be finalized and sought against Teixeira in South Boston District Court, police said.
