• Whittier Street Health Center to host Oct. 8 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration (jamaicaplaingazette.com) — Residents of the South End and nearby neighborhoods are invited to Whittier Street Health Center's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Thursday, October 8, from noon to 2 p.m. in Roxbury. The free event features a keynote by the state's Child Advocate, Marisol Garcia, along with food, music, cultural activities, and information on Whittier's health and social services that regularly serve South End patients.
