Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Appoints Dr. Majd Mouded, Chief of the Pulmonary Department

Newton, Mass. October 17, 2012 - Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multi-specialty physician practice with offices across eastern Massachusetts and an affiliate of Atrius Health, is proud to announce that Dr. Majd Mouded has been appointed the Chief of the Pulmonary Department. 

Dr. Mouded joined Harvard Vanguard in 2011 as the director of the Pulmonary Function Lab, and has served as the interim Chief of Pulmonary since June. Dr. Mouded is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and has played an integral role in the education of pulmonary fellows, residents and medical students at these institutions.

Prior to joining Harvard Vanguard, Dr. Mouded was an assistant professor in pulmonary medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his five years there, Dr. Mouded performed research in COPD pathophysiology and lung regeneration. He has also authored and co-authored several peer reviewed publications.

Dr. Mouded received his medical degree from Tufts University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship in a combined Harvard University program. Dr. Mouded is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.

He is a resident of Boston, Mass.
