The app will allow residents easy access to their trash and recycle collection schedules.

Find yourself always questioning whether it’s trash day or not? Not to worry. There’s an app that now reminds you!

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced Wednesday the launch of a new web and mobile app known as “Trash Day.” The new app will allow residents easy access to their trash and recycle collection schedules and the ability to sign up for text, email and phone reminders.

“We are always looking for ways to be responsive to residents’ needs in new and innovative ways,” said Mayor Walsh. “This tool is a simple way for us to share information that affects nearly all of Boston residents on a daily basis.”

The app was developed due to a recurring high volume of calls to the Mayor’s hotline with residents seeking out answers related to trash collection.

Trash Day reminders and collection schedules are available through the city’s website and free for iOS and Android users.
