Proverb Managing Director named IVY Innovator finalist

Brand-building agency selected for ICIC 2015 Inner City 100



BOSTON – Daren Bascome, Managing Director of Proverb, an independent branding and design agency based in Boston, Massachusetts, was recently nominated as a finalist for the 2015 IVY Innovator Awards for Design. Presented by Cadillac in New York City this month, the awards capped off a national contest to showcase and elevate the next generation of leading minds in technology, film and design. Bascome was honored as one of five finalists in the Design category.

The finalists were chosen from hundreds of nominees by a judging panel comprised of industry experts and representatives from IVY, a global community of business and social innovators. The panel considered the nominees’ potential impact in their respective fields, the expansiveness and uniqueness of their personal vision and endeavors, their approach to creativity and innovation, and their commitment to collaboration.

For Bascome and Proverb, the nomination represents the third in a string of recent recognition. In October, Proverb was named to the ICIC Inner City 100, a list of America’s fastest-growing inner city businesses, sponsored by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and published in Fortune magazine. More recently, Boston-based organization Youth Design honored Proverb with its annual Founder’s Award, given to firms that display a deep commitment to mentoring urban youth interested in design.

Since founding the agency in 1999, Bascome has been recognized by AIGA, Graphis, and the Ad Club, and has appeared in Fast Company, Fortune, and The Boston Globe, among others.
