Date Set for Hernandez Double Murder Trial

Hernandez's second murder trial will start in December.

A Boston judge has set a date for the double murder trial of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Locke has scheduled the start of the trial for Dec. 1 according to the Suffolk County D.A.’s office.

Hernandez stands accused of two counts of first-degree murder and other offenses for the 2012 shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado. He is also charged with the attempted murders of three surviving victims in Boston’s South End.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Currently, Hernandez is serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.
