WHAT: Join the ranks of history's most famous and revered artists with "Get Cracking: Egg Tempera Painting" at the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE). This ancient medium of painting, which dates back to the Egyptians, consists of eggs mixed with colored pigments to make fast-drying, long-lasting artwork. This easy-to-use method was preferred by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Raphael, and pretty much everyone else you've heard of. Instructor Harriet Taylor-Thorpe, whose work has been shown in several Boston-area galleries, will teach students about mixing pigment, composition, and application as they strive to create their own masterpieces.
This eight-week art course, which runs Wednesday nights from 5:45 PM to 7:45 PM starting January 11th, 2012, is open to novices and experts alike. So whether you've always liked doodling in notepads, or you've searched remote Italian churches for Medieval frescoes, this class at the BCAE will provide you an outlet for your inspiration!
