South End Fall Clean Up

The Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and Public Works Department provides tools and trash pick up on that day, and we ask that volunteers from the neighborhood use these resources to help us clean up the community.  Please encourage your friends and neighbors to participate in the clean up to help beautify the neighborhood before the winter. 

  Neighbors often request that we schedule this as late in the Fall season as we can, so that all the leaves have fallen and we can get all the debris off the streets before the first snow.  There is no rain date for this, so we'll go ahead in light rain, cold or shine (snow or nor'easters not included).    

Tools can be picked up at one of two pick up locations beginning at 9am. Tools must be returned to the same location no later than 1pm.  Your pick up location is listed below. Please email me in advance with the number of rakes, shovels, and brooms you request, as well as number of volunteers participating.  We are not able to provide t-shirts for the Fall clean-up, those are only available in the Spring.   Public Works trucks will be around to pick up trash bags on the day of the clean up.   If you have any questions before the clean-up, please contact me.  On the day of the clean-up, please call the Mayor's Hotline 617 635 4500 with questions or concerns, (including reporting missed trash or the need for immediate clean up assistance). 

Tool Pick Up Locations by Neighborhood:   BCA Plaza on Tremont Ellis Bradford Street Claremont Concord Square Pilot Block Berkeley Garden Union Park Villa Victoria   Blackstone Square on Washington Street Blackstone/Franklin Worcester Square Chester Square Rutland Square Rutland Street WGMS Old Dover Peter's Park Hurley Blocks     Tips for a successful clean-up:  Please do not overfill the trash bags.  Bags should not be too heavy to carry or lift.  This helps the volunteers and Public Works workers.   Leave trash bags in a visible place.  Bags at the corners or together in one central location are easier to spot and pick up.    Please return all the tools you borrow to the pick up/drop off location.
