Ex-Daycare Worker Convicted Of Child Assault Gets Charged Again
The 69-year-old man is currently on probation for the 2010 assault of a young child at a Dorchester school.

BOSTON, MA — A former daycare worker convicted of sexually assaulting a child seven years ago is heading back to court Thursday after another child said he abused her, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.
Juan Colon, 69, of Hyde Park is accused of assaulting a kindergarten girl at Rockwood Early Educational Academy in Dorchester in 2008. Colon is currently on probation following his release from prison for a 2010 child assault at the same school.
The new case comes after a girl said she was abused by Colon in 2008 while attending Rockwood. She then took part in a forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County.

Colon was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child for the 2010 assault. He was fired from his position at the school and served time in the Suffolk County House of Correction.
"Cases like this one are an important reminder to us as parents and caregivers," Conley said. "It’s up to us to make it clear that kids can come to us with anything that makes them uncomfortable or afraid. Make sure they understand that no one who really cares for them would want them to keep a secret from you, and that they won’t get in trouble for telling you about something that’s bothering them, even if it’s hard to talk about."
