Five Things: A Free Taste of March Madness

Today is Wednesday, March 21. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Temperatures are expected to hit the low 80s today. Enjoy.

2. If you want to catch a glimpse of March Madness but don’t have tickets to Thursday’s Sweet 16 games at the TD Garden, stop by the Garden today (doors open at 11 a.m.) to see Wisconsin (Noon), Cincinnati (1 p.m.), Syracuse (2 p.m.) and Ohio State (3 p.m.) practice for FREE. On Thursday, No. 1 Syracuse faces No. 4 Wisconsin at 7:15 p.m. in the round of 16, followed by No. 2 Ohio State against No. 6 Cincinnati at 9:45 p.m. The winners then square off on Saturday for a ticket to the Final Four in New Orleans.

3.  On the first day of voting in this week’s Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest, ,  and  rose above the field. However, voting goes until 9 a.m. Friday, March 23, so it’s still anyone’s game. Be sure to write a short one or two sentence review on the salons’ Patch Places pages, as with the votes so close, that’s likely to be the difference.
