Born in Chicago, IL, Arni Cheatham was introduced to photography at 12 years old when his father gave him his first camera. He worked, starting in his teens, as a Photostat camera operator learning the nuances of photo detail and reproduction for some of Chicago’s major advertising firms until he was drafted in the U.S. Army. Shortly after leaving the military, Arni moved to Boston where he has called the South End home for some 40 years.

In his photography, he specializes in nature - with a passion for birds and landscapes. His works are in the permanent collection at the Boston Athenaeum. Besides being a talented photographer, Arni is a saxophonist, bandleader, educator, master teacher/performer and community activist – a local artistic talent in every way.

Throughout its twenty-five year history, Hammond Residential Real Estate has made the visual and performing arts the primary focus of its corporate philanthropy. “We believe in giving back to the communities that we serve through free events focused on the many local artists who make Boston such an exciting and vibrant place to live,” stated Hammond Senior Vice President Dave Stenberg. “In addition to our fine arts exhibits, we also sponsor a series of free chamber music concerts that highlight the talents of emerging performers,” he said.

Hammond Residential is headquartered in Chestnut Hill, and has three Boston locations and sixteen suburban branch offices. The company reports over two billion dollars in sales volume annually, ranking in sales volume among the top 500 firms in the United States, and as the sixth-highest in mean average sales price and the ninth-highest in sales volume per sales associate. Hammond is well-known as the publisher of the region’s finest magazines featuring local properties for sale. Hammond’s South End office is also the exclusive Regents Representative of the Luxury Real Estate Network.
