Hammond Residential Real Estate to Host Artist Gallery Talk and Tour: Robert Rovenolt: ECHO….4 Decades of Collage and Assemblage
BOSTON – March 12, 2014 - The Hammond Residential Real Estate office located in the ATELIER 505 building, at 505 Tremont Street in Boston’s South End, is pleased to announce that artist Robert Rovenolt will lead an artist gallery talk and tour in connection with his exhibit spanning 40 years that is currently on display: Echo….4 Decades of Collage and Assemblage. This event, which is open and free to the public, will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 4-5 p.m.
Rovenolt has lived and worked in Boston’s South End for forty years, and his studio at the Boston Center for the Arts is living proof of his long tenure. Amassed on every wall of his studio are completed collages and assemblages. His work tables overflow with art in progress and found objects, new and old, for possible future projects. Like a musician with perfect pitch, Rovenolt has an innate sense of pictorial placement. He says, for him, the evolution of each new work goes through much trial and error. “I can leave a piece incomplete for weeks or months until it finally is resolved, for the ultimate balance and lyricism is of paramount importance.” Born on a Pennsylvania dairy farm, Robert received his BFA from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a major in print making. He also studied abroad in Rome, Italy where he absorbed a unique perspective from the European architecture and culture which later resonates in his studio discipline and practice. In 1972 he received his MA from the University of Illinois.
Throughout its twenty-two year history, Hammond Residential Real Estate has made the visual and performing arts the primary focus of its corporate philanthropy. “We believe in giving back to the communities that we serve through free events focused on the many local artists who make Boston such an exciting and vibrant place to live,” stated Hammond Senior Vice President Dave Stenberg. “In addition to our fine arts exhibits, we also sponsor a series of free chamber music concerts that highlight the talents of emerging performers,” he said.
