Local Priest Presides at Nationally Televised Mass

Thursday, March 12, 2015 Watertown, Mass. - The daily Catholic Mass was celebrated at the Watertown studios of CatholicTV in the Chapel of Holy Cross.

Father Robert E. Casey of Gate of Heaven and Saint Brigid Parishes in South Boston presided at today’s Mass. Ms. Elaine Connolly served as lector for the Mass and Lesley Coffey served Fr. Casey at the altar. The congregation was made up of parishioners of Gate of Heaven and Saint Brigid Parish as well as CatholicTV employees.

In addition to Fr. Casey’s work at Gate of Heaven and St. Brigid, he is the current Vicar Forane for Vicariate II in the Central Region of the Archdiocese of Boston and the assistant Catholic Chaplain for the Boston Fire and Medford Police Departments. Gates of Heaven and St. Brigid Parishes are a collaborative of two parishes, Gate of Heaven and Saint Brigid Parishes and are actually the first parishes to become a collaborative in the Archdiocese of Boston. The collaboration has a large emphasis on community outreach services and is committed to spreading their faith through the use of education and stewardship.
