Update: Man in Custody for South End Stabbing

The stabbing of a 61-year-old man took place on Brookline Street.


Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing at a building in Boston’s South End neighborhood Monday, police say.

The stabbing took place on 143 West Brookline Street just after 2 p.m.

A homicide unit was called to the scene. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and is undergoing surgery. He is expected to survive, reports indicate. The victim has not yet been identified.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 2 p.m., finding the victim bleeding as he was leaving the apartment building. He had been stabbed multiple times, police said

Police confiscated a folding knife and arrested a man in his 30s at the scene. He is known to the victim, according to reports.
