MRF Spreads a Message of Love on The Beehive's Stage
Talented Saxophonist Mike Flanagan Merges R&B and Jazz at The Beehive in Boston, MA for a Soulful Live Performance

WHAT: On Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 from 8:00PM to 12:00AM, LGBT activist and saxophonist Mike Flanagan, otherwise known as MRF, will share his latest recording “Mob Music” at The Beehive. His fresh, playful, masterful and soulful sound is a truly unique take on jazz and R&B, and promises an unforgettable live performance at The ‘Hive. Flanagan has earned a name for himself in the contemporary music scene as a talented artist with something to say. With Mob Music he steadily climbed the ITunes Jazz Chart in the U.S and was featured on Billboard’s HeatSeekers Chart in 2013. MRF is known as a strong voice in the LGBT community, and he was nominated for five awards at the 2014 annual OUT Music Awards, the biggest night in LGBT music and entertainment. He won two of these awards, including Humanitarian Songwriter of the Year for “Be Strong LGBT Youth” and Best Spoken Word for his song “Tender.” “Be Strong” was also chosen as the Official Flag Raising Anthem for Boston Pride in 2013.
