The Performing Arts Series Presents Concert at Old South Church

The Performing Arts Series is pleased to present Sarita Kwok on violin, Rafael Popper-Keizer on cello and Melinda Lee Masur on piano. The concert, which is sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 at Old South Church located at 645 Boylston St. in Boston. The program will include selected works by Josef Suk, Bohuslav Martinů and Antonín Dvořák.
Named Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year at the age of fifteen, Kwok has distinguished herself as one of the most captivating and sophisticated performers to emerge from the ranks of Australia’s classical musicians. This prize-winning violinist has performed as a solo artist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, and as a featured soloist with the major orchestras of her native Australia.
Popper-Keizer, a well-renowned Boston musician, is the principal cellist of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a member artist of Emmanuel Music, Chameleon Arts Ensemble, Winsor Music, the Ibis Camerata and Monadnock Music. He studied at New England Conservatory and the Tanglewood Music Center, as well as Stanford University and the University of California at Santa Cruz, and has been featured on more than a dozen recordings.

Pianist Lee Masur was recently appointed director of piano chamber music for the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and joined the Boston University School of Music faculty in 2015. She has appeared on stages around the world including the three stages of Carnegie Hall, at London’s Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Ravinia Festival, the Festival Les Muse´iques Basel, and has been featured on broadcast radio, nationally as well as on Hong Kong’s classical radio/television station, RTHK4. Lee Masur is a Steinway Artist.
