BOSTON – Proverb, a Boston-based branding and design agency, has been named an official honoree by the Webby Awards for its work on The Hecht Warehouse at Ivy City in Washington, D.C.

The Webby Awards, described by The New York Times as, “the internet’s highest honor,” received nearly 13,000 entries from 65 countries. Official Honoree distinction is awarded only to the top 20% of entries.
Designed by Proverb on behalf of Douglas Development and Bozzuto Management Company, the Hecht Warehouse website, www.hechtwarehouse.com, positioned the mixed-use development as a home for the city’s “urban pioneers” and provided an immersive experience to prospective residents. Judges praised the site for its “interactivity”—the ability of a website to both give and receive user interaction.

In addition to the website, Douglas Development and Bozzuto Management Company tasked Proverb with creating an entire suite of communications to convey the firm’s new vision for Ivy City, including a logo, tagline, printed collateral and environmental graphics. Anchored by the historic Hecht Warehouse building, the long-blighted section of northeast Washington, D.C. has undergone a dramatic transformation in recent months and years, yielding 335 units and roughly 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, and service uses.
