RCN Boston Ice Cream Truck delivers cheer to Dana-Farber caregivers

RCN Boston’s Ice Cream Truck made a special visit to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to deliver frozen treats to approximately 750 caregivers. The ice cream truck visit continues RCN Boston’s commitment to bringing cheer to various nonprofits throughout the warm weather season with the company’s signature ice cream truck.

“We were glad to bring the RCN Boston Ice Cream Truck to Dana-Farber to spread some good cheer among the caregivers who work tirelessly with a smile on behalf of their patients,” said Jeff Carlson, Vice President and General Manager, RCN Boston. “We are thankful for the amazing work that goes on at the Institute.”

In addition, RCN will be sponsoring the annual Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai on Sunday, September 27, where the RCN Boston Ice Cream Truck will again be giving out free treats to walkers.

“RCN is proud to support the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk that raises critical funds for people affected by cancer who live in the communities we serve and beyond,” said Carlson. “Look for the RCN Ice Cream Truck along the route and enjoy a treat on us.”

RCN Boston is the Supporting Sponsor of the Boston College 5-Mile Start in Chestnut Hill. RCN representatives will also be on hand to give out free fun items to walkers, volunteers and staff. The Walk has three other route options with separate starting locations: Center School in Hopkinton for those walking the full 26.2 miles; Wellesley High School in Wellesley (for the 13.1 mile route) and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s campus in the Longwood Medical area (3 miles.) Walkers will cross the finish line in Boston’s Copley Square, where the RCN Ice Cream Truck will be serving ice cream. To learn more, visit JimmyFundWalk.org.
