Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker asked a consulting firm in June to vet Boston’s 2024 Olympic bid and its financial implications. That group released a 192-page report on Tuesday, highlighting an array of risks and errors.

Boston 2024 organizers underestimated the cost for construction for hosting the Olympic Games by as much as $970 million, among other issues, according to a state-funded report released by the Brattle Group.

If the project did not reach projected cost savings, taxpayers in Boston would have been slammed with $750 million in expenses, the report also indicated.
