A person has been shot near the Boston University Medical Campus, according to multiple students who say they got an alert sent to their phone from the school and later confirmed by Boston Police.
The shooting took place in the area of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Mass. Avenue.
The Daily Free Press, an independent student newspaper at BU, reported the suspect fled in the opposite direction of campus. Students are still being urged to avoid the area.
