South End Businesses Land 'Best of Boston' Awards

Boston magazine’s annual “Best of Boston” issue hit newsstands this week, marking the 42nd anniversary of the awards.

Over the course of this past year, a team of judges ate, drank and shopped their way all over the city in an effort to seek out the premiere businesses scattered throughout the many neighborhoods in the area.

The magazine presented several businesses in the South End area with awards in the “Dining,” ”Shopping,” ”A&E,” “Weddings” and “Service” categories.

  • Dining/Fries: The Gallows
  • Dining/Restaurant, General Excellence: Coppa
  • Dining/South American: Orinoco
  • Dining/Steakhouse: Boston Chops
  • Shopping/Women’s Accessories: Flock
  • Shopping/Casual Men’s Clothing: Sault New England
  • Shopping/Casual Women’s Clothing: Viola Lovely
  • Shopping/Bedding: Michelle Willey
  • Shopping/Vintage Clothing: SoWa Vintage Market
  • Shopping/Local Bag Designer: Artemis Design Co.
  • Service/Florist: Table & Tulip
  • A&E/Dance Troupe: Urbanity Dance
  • A&E/Fringe Theater Company: Company One Theatre
  • A&E/Art Gallery: Gallery Kayafas
  • Weddings/Rings: Sophie Hughes

Awards were handed out in categories including dining, shopping, service, arts & entertainment, nightlife and more.
