South End Company Wins Award

lluminate, a developer of clinical sales training programs for life sciences just won a 2018 LTEN Excellence Award.

From Illuminate: Illuminate, the Boston‐based developer of innovative custom clinical sales training programs for the life science industry (www.illuminate.net), has received a 2018 LTEN Excellence Award in the Learning Content category. The award recognizes LTEN (Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network) provider partners “who have created superior learning content.”

Illuminate founder and president Shaun McMahon was recognized alongside Illuminate client Kel Greene of Gilead Sciences for developing Illuminate’s innovative PI ExplorerTM programs for two products in Gilead’s HIV portfolio, Genvoya® and Descovy®. “This project was both stimulating and deeply satisfying, and I’m thankful for this acknowledgement from industry peers and colleagues,” says McMahon. “I’m also particularly pleased to be recognized with Kel, whose contributions were invaluable, and I would like to congratulate him for his award in the Practitioner Innovation category.” Illuminate’s PI ExplorerTM allows learners to assess knowledge on an ongoing basis, reviewing and relearning as needed. For the Genvoya® and Descovy® programs, Therapeutic Specialists (TSs) access PI ExplorerTM via Gilead’s learning management system or its learning app.

Certification quizzes verify and document that the TS has mastered required material. The TSs are also able to use PI ExplorerTM to research aspects of the PI when they need it, ensuring that correct information is always accessible. Following its success with the Genvoya® and Descovy® PI ExplorerTM programs, Illuminate partnered with Gilead once again to develop the PI ExplorerTM for its newest entrant into the marketplace, Biktarvy®. In a statement released by LTEN, the organization’s executive director, Dawn Brehm, stated, “It's our great honor every year to be able to recognize the truly incredible work these life sciences training professionals do every day....It's truly inspiring to see the level of work that goes into life sciences training, and we're proud to be able to give these professionals the credit they deserve.” The fourth annual LTEN Excellence Awards were presented on Wednesday, June 13, during the
organization’s 47th Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. This is the second consecutive LTEN
Excellence Award received by McMahon, who was named LTEN Member of the Year in 2017.
