The ‘Doggie’ Days Are Over

A local pet care shop has closed its doors.

After 13 years at the corner of Tremont and Herald streets, , a full-service pet care shop with a dog daycare and spa, “permanently closed” on Sunday, March 11, according to a sign posted on the shop’s front door.

The sign thanked the shop’s customers for “13 wonderful years,” but did not give a reason for the closing.

Attempts to contact DoggieDay’s owner were unsuccessful Thursday afternoon. However, the closing was a surprise to the shop’s employees and customers, according to one nearby resident. He said employees were told of the closing on Saturday and immediately called customers to let them know.
