Urban Grape, Mohr & McPherson Liquor License Hearings Today

Mohr is seeking a liquor license for its in-store cafe while Urban Grape hopes to expand into South End with a new wine shop.

The Boston Licensing Board will consider a couple of South End liquor petitions at its Wednesay morning meeting.

has requested a wine and malt beverages with liquors license for its Harrison Avenue location. The cafe, on the first floor of the antiques and furnishings dealer, would sell alcohol seven days a week if the petition is granted.

Chestnut Hill's Urban Grape want to expand into the South End. It's request is for a package store all alcoholic beverages license for a proposed Bryant Estates location at 303 Columbus Ave.. The 2,100-plus square foot store would have both an exterior entrance and an entrance from the Bryant lobby.

In a Tuesday post about the Urban Grape petition, South End blogger BosGuy noted that there aren't any other wine shops in the area and encouraged the board to approve the bid for a liquor store.
